My later career focused on process safety assessments of new developments and modifications in hydrocarbon, chemical and petrochemical plants.

I have developed expertise in the validation of process engineering designs when client and contractor disagree on what constitutes good engineering practice. This often requires that I provide a practical interpretation of regulatory requirements.

Often related to assessing complex process designs, I carry out technical safety analyses to quantify the level of risk to personnel, assets and the environment.

My knowledge of process design, plant integrity and process safety is a strong foundation for carrying out the forensic investigation of incidents concerning whole plants or individual equipment items.
